Wow! This past week was insane! Wednesday, the social committee at our school hosted a paint night with That Art Thing, then Thursday, we had Christmas dinner at my dad and stepmoms, Friday was Matt’s staff party, Saturday was Mamma Mia at my school and Sunday was the Nutcracker. It was tiring, but super fun and I’m glad we were able to fit it all in before Matt goes away for biking.
Friday night we got all fancy and went to Matt’s staff Christmas party. It was at the Future Inn and the buffet was delicious!
It was super fun.
And they had this really neat contraption there. It looked like a tall mirror, essentially, with lights all around it. However, it was a touch screen, HUGE touch screen where you could pick backdrops and they had props and you took pictures and you could even write on the screen (see how I wrote “Kinnie’s” at the top?) and then it printed out.
So, it was basically the MODERN, new day photo-booth at events with the props, but you got the photo immediately and there was no photographer. It was so much fun! If I had known these people better I would have spent the entire night at the booth taking tons of pics.
Saturday, we were up at Matt had to bike for almost three hours, so I food prepped:
And then took the girls to the YMCA so they could run around and play for an hour- and I got a workout in as well.
Then it was date night AGAIN! Matt and I were heading to my school to watch the musical Mamma Mia. However, we did some Christmas shopping before hand and then went to Guacamole for supper- it was Matt’s first time and he LOVED it. So yummy.
Then we went to the play.
It was AMAZING. The students did such a great job- their voices were amazing as was their acting and dancing. A lot of work went into this and you could tell and it paid off! Way to go BMHS and all the teachers who gave their time to make it happen.
Here is my girlfriend, Becca, getting flowers from the kids.
Sunday, Matt biked and the girls and I coloured. I printed off Hatchimal colouring sheets off and they were content colouring them for almost three hours. It was great!
They got these Christmas window stickers, and they put those up as well.
In the afternoon, Matt took them swimming at the Y and I was able to run out and get a few errands done with my mom.
Then, after supper I took off to pick up Becca to go see the Nutcracker. It was her first time and a LOT of our students were in it, so I was excited to see it.
We had tickets with some most of my Poetry girls who went as well, because Veronica, another poetry girl was in it and has some major roles. She is an amazing dancer and it was so fun to support her and so awesome that the whole Poetry group from her grade came. (minus two)
I like this pic- as most of our meetings look like this- lots of laughing!
And the girls got Veronica a lot of goodies. So sweet.
It was a really fun time.
It was a nice way to end the weekend. Except, I only got home close to 11pm- which I think is the latest I’ve ever been out on a Sunday before. But it was worth it!
I’m looking so forward to this week though as I essentially have NOTHING booked! Should be nice and relaxing!
Ok, happy Monday!
