Good morning fellow Yogi’s and friends!  It is GratiTuesday and it’s a beautiful sunny day!  It is only 9am and it is already 12 degrees out!  No jackets today!  YAY!

GratiTuesday- living with mindfulness and gratefulness.

Speaking of the weather- I’m grateful to live in New Brunswick and even more grateful to live in Moncton/Riverview.

Take a moment to think about where you live and your surroundings.  Why do you choose to live here?  What do you love about it?  What does it give to you and you to it?

I don’t know about you, but I LOVE the community here in Moncton and in the Maritimes in general.  Rumour has it- we are the friendliest, and I would have to say that I agree!   Lately, all I’ve seen is local businesses and entrepreneurs supporting each other.  No one wants to “win” or be better than others- they all want to see each other succeed.  It’s really a beautiful thing.  This is from all of the Yoga studios that have opened recently, to new business ideas, and DIY’ers (makeup, food, jewelry, etc)

I have a few girlfriends who have started up new businesses lately, and to see how much support and love they have been getting from the community is phenomenal.

It’s amazing how everyone seems connected to some extent, if you don’t know each other personally, you are connected by a mutual friend.  Moncton is like one big extended family!

(I HAD to pick a pick with a chair in it….I mean c’mon!!! Haha )

Also- everything is close!  You can get to a BEAUTIFUL beach within 20-30 minutes. You can also get to some amusement parks within the same time frame.

Not to mention our down town seems to be growing- we have TWO booming markets where you can get fresh, local veggies, and food.  And we have new businesses venturing downtown as well.  I lived in Halifax for awhile (which I also love and adore) and something I’ve always missed is the downtown atmosphere.  You can spend an ENTIRE day downtown, walking, venturing into shops, pubs, etc., and I feel as though Moncton is headed there and already is there- to a certain degree.

And, although in the midst of our long winters, we probably lose sight of this…we really are lucky to have four beautifully different seasons.  Our winters (although long and sometimes ROUGH on us) are breathtaking and we have so many outdoor activities within reach (including slopes to ski- some people have to travel very far to have access to one).  And we have BEAUTIFUL colours in our fall, and springs are crisp and enjoyable as we come out of hibernation.  Not to mention we have beaches close by in the summer!  We really do get the best of all the seasons!

Moncton has so much to offer and is continuing to grow and blossom.  I really am grateful that I get to live here and raise my children here.

Being away this weekend meant last night we had to get our lives together.  Sunday was Mother’s Day and I was tired from being away and not in the mood to food prep.  So, Matt and I did it last night, and now we can get through the rest of this week 🙂

We also had a yummy supper last night, burgers cooked on the grill with avocado and hummus for a sauce….and lots of veggies!

And then Matt and I watched the finale of Big Brother Canada and then hit the hay!  We wanted to be in bed by 8, but only managed to get there for 9:30!  WAY too late!!!!!

I didn’t get to the gym today, as I was tired haha, but I did manage to go downstairs and get a bit of a workout in on the treadmill….that is….until Lily joined me and wanted to get her own workout in! Haha

Today- the girls and I are going to visit my dad and stepmom in their new place (they bought the condo RIGHT next door to their old condo as this one is a bit bigger) and to wish Becky a happy Mother’s Day and give her, her gift.  We are meeting my sister and her kids there and having some food together.  Should be fun!

Hope you all have a fabulous GratiTuesday!
