Weekend Update!

What an amazing and restful weekend!  There is something about the cooler nights and beautiful brisk days that just makes me happy.  Anyone agree?

We had a pretty tame weekend, but eventful nonetheless.  Friday, we stayed close to home and sat outside in the warm evening sun having a celebratory drink from surviving the first week back to school- all while enjoying a nice little puppet show from the girls.  They created their own puppets with Popsicle sticks and did a show about a family of cats.  It was pretty cute.

Then they did piggy back rides for about an hour.  The energy!

Saturday the girls had their first tennis lesson at the Y.

They had a BLAST.  And even better, while they were busy playing tennis, mama got to go upstairs and get a workout in.  I’m going to LOVE this new routine!

And after we went to check out the new downtown centre.  It’s absolutely beautiful.  We actually went, because we bought my father hockey passes for the year for his birthday and we wanted to give it to him Sunday when we had his birthday party.  BUT we also got to enjoy live music, cotton candy, candy, and face paint.

AND escalators.

That night I headed to my girlfriends cottage, Tina, to teach a yoga class and enjoy a girls night.

We did yoga in our animal onesies outside on her patio with a fire behind us and the sunset in front of us.

It was so great.

Then we had homemade chocolate chip cookies with chocolate chip cookie dough sandwiched inside.  Yum!

And Kombucha and champagne of course- plus a yummy cake.

And SUSHI!

Sunday I food prepped

and set up a scavenger hunt for the girls so they could get outside and be active- plus not going to lie, it gave me some quiet time to finish prepping.

Then we had a yummy lunch

And headed to the mall to get the girls Halloween costumes- an Elephant, Unicorn and Hamster, and we are going to be nice and comfy and warm!

Then we headed to my dad and stepmoms for supper and to celebrate my dad’s birthday.

My niece got second place at Softball provincials, and won most sportsmanlike!

And we had a yummy supper and dessert, and dad was super pumped about his gift.

And ended the night with Uncle Nick doing flips and spins and throwing the kids around.  Win for the kids!  Haha

It was a great weekend and I’m looking forward to the second week of school.

Hope you all have a great week!

Namaste
