Hope everyone had a great weekend!
We sure did.
Friday evening, I went to Magnetic Hill Winery with the females on staff. It was really nice to just get together and chat about things not involving school.
And it was my first time at the winery, crazy I know, since I live in Moncton.
It was BEAUTIFUL! And we had a great time.
And my former Fieldhockey coach works there now, so afterwards we went to my cousins house and had a few glasses of wine and played that funny game where you put a piece of plastic in your mouth and try to talk.
It was super fun.
The next day the girls got up and made breakfast all on their own. It was absolutely adorable and they did a great job. We all ate together at the kitchen table. (I was supervising the whole time)
Then the girls and I took off for the YMCA. The girls went to Arts and Crafts, and then they went to Play Zone and then Tennis. So, we were at the Y from 10:30-1:30.
And I got to go upstairs and go on the stepper
And then Jacobs Ladder- not gonna lie, this thing is INTENSE and a tad scary and I MAY have fallen off of it……whoops. But I did manage to stay on for 25 minutes. And I was DRENCHED afterwards.
Saturday evening was pretty chill.
We made pizzas- one for them and one for us.
And then we did laundry, laundry, laundry.
Sunday we did groceries and food prep and then I got on Jacob’s Ladder again because I LOVE it.
And got DRENCHED in my Minnie Mouse shirt!
Then we biked to Nanas (daddy biked with the girls and I drove as I had things to bring to Nana, and I thought they would be too tired to bike back) and played a bit of Dominos.
They wanted to bike back- so Nana hopped on her bike and biked with them.
Now, if you don’t like hearing about girl problems- fast forward.
Since having the girls my menstrual cycle has been VICIOUS! Every month, I end up getting migraines, and intense, insane cramps and incredible pain in my belly, lower back and basically all of my lower extremities.
I was actually DOUBLED over in pain at breakfast time yesterday and tried to make it through the day, but couldn’t. I was in so much pain that I ended up going home at noon and sleeping the rest of the day. Hence why I went dark yesterday on the blog.
Has anyone else had this experience? Having these symptoms worsen after children or child birth?
Random- Sunday evening we had a dance party where we introduced the girls to The Beastie Boys.
And last night, we VOTED! What are your thoughts on the election? Pretty intense and interesting.
I missed Monday Mantra- so I’m going with it.
I have always been in love with Jewel and her music and lyrics. She is incredible and just so talented.
And lately, I’ve taken out her Spirit CD and have been listening to it in the car on repeat.
The song Life Uncommon has really been connecting with me. I’ve been BELTING it out day and night and LOVING the lyrics.
This part in particular really strikes a cord with me.
And it starts by saying “And lend your voices only to sounds of freedom”
The whole song is just genius.
And I’ve spoken about letting go of people and things that no longer serve you and how I’ve done just that in the last two years and have found myself in the most amazing place because of it with lots of wonderful things that have come my way BECAUSE of the negative things (and people) I’ve let go. So, I TRULY believe in this and perhaps that’s why this song is my theme song as of late.
If you are not familiar with this song- take a peek!
Alright that is it for today! Happy Tuesday!
