Hello beautiful people of the web!
I am so, so excited about this dream of mine FINALLY becoming a reality. I have been dreaming of this blog/and more exciting things to come for a few years now but as most of us do, I just always doubted my ability. My “inner critic” always overcame me as I was just about to press the publish button….but not this time. I just recently attended a workshop called “Work of Heart” put on by a friend of mine, Angela MacIntyre Harris- check her out on instagram/facebook, http://www.workofheart.me you won’t regret it!
Anyway, during this workshop there were many guest speakers who spoke of their dreams and how for so long they doubted themselves, selling themselves short. By doing so, they were living a limited life, living in their own shadow. The whole day resonated with me as I have so many dreams to help and inspire women with yoga/meditation/mindfulness, etc. And the lesson I took away was to stop second guessing myself and to stop worrying about what other people will think. I. Am. Ready. I am here. I am enough.
So- I guess to start by describing a little bit about myself.
I am a wife to a wonderful man, Matt. We have been together for over 15 years and best friends before that. We met at a beautiful place called Camp Centennial, where we worked as counselors. We were active in outdoor activities, like canoeing, camping, climbing and rappelling….and more.
Matt and I got together and a few years after, he unfortunately had a rock climbing accident, falling over 40 feet onto a ledge with 20 feet beneath him. He broke his neck (C6-C7 vertebrae) and is now a quadriplegic.
We got married, and after a long trialing time with fertility issues (due to his injury for the most part) we were able to conceive two BEAUTIFUL twin girls, Lily and Leah.
The girls are now five, and we are REALLY enjoying this time in our lives. I am teaching Yoga, and English in my high school, the girls are in Kindergarten (where does the time go???) and Matt is working as an Environmental Engineer and also competes nationally in hand cycling!
I also LOVE to travel, and will be talking about this as well.
This blog will represent me and my family in many ways. I want to just connect to people and talk about things that bring me bliss…..that is MANY things….retreats, YOGA, meditation, mindfulness, books, my family, traveling, etc.
That is it for now, Blissful Bhakti Babes! Thanks for listening and welcoming me to this wonderful world. I am so excited for the future and all the amazing possibilities!
